National Skill Competitions

The skilled work force plays a significant role in employment, production, productivity and added value.
In order to improve the quality of skill trainings and upgrading those to international skill standards as well as providing a healthy competition environment, Technical and Vocational Training Organization which is in charge of holding National Skills Competition, has been able to regularly conduct the annual competitions with scientific and financial support of the business and training enterprises. Holding the competitions, TVTO has brought a promising advancement to economic, social, cultural and educational sectors; and by recognizing the top rates in any skill, it has played a key role in promoting the culture of skills competition in labor and production sectors. Through this task, TVTO has simplified the collaboration between different educational institutions and manufacturers to achieve the goal of training according to the needs of the labor market; and as a result the selected young people would have a fruitful presence in World Skills Competition.

The History of National Skill Competitions

Before The Great Islamic Revolution of Iran the first round of skill competitions was held by Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MOLSA) between skilled workers and young technicians in 1972; then later on, an Articles of Association for holding the annual skill competitions from 1972 until 1979 was approved. Then the competitions were held annually until 1979.
